Week in Review

We were so fortunate to be able to hear Gitta Ryle, a Holocaust survivor, at a Remembrance Service.  I saw a flyer and didn't want to miss out on this very special opportunity.  Gitta was born in Vienna in 1932. She was the second daughter of a Jewish family.  After Kristallnacht, her mother registered Gitta and her sister with a French humanitarian group that rescued Jewish children throughout Europe.  During Gitta's seven years in hiding she moved to several different locations.  At the end of the war she and her sister were reunited with their mother and eventually immigrated to the United States.

Her story was amazing
We were so touched by her story
Here is Meg giving her a hug
This is Gitta smiling because Owen gave her a hug too!

A little art here and there.  Owen even got in on this one.  Meg and I love little projects.  We find them fun and relaxing.

 Time to let them dry
Super fun brushing off the dried tissue paper
 Final product
They remind me of stain glass windows

This is not a very good picture but this is bus #14.  And bus #14 passes me everyday when I am out on my run.  I have never met the bus driver but we seem to have an understanding.  He looks for me and I look for him. And when we see each other we give each other a big smile and wave.
Owen and his buddy on patrol
Owen and his guys.  Owen wears a hat... they wear a hat, Owen wears a vest... they wear a vest... Owen wears sunglasses ....
Owen is so sweet and shares his "kit" with his buddies.  Here's a pic of his buddy trying on his gear.  Check out those night vision goggles on Owen's helmet.  He made those out of toilet paper rolls!  He worked so hard on those things. Spray painting them and everything!  I have to say they look pretty realistic.

Meg and Astro.... quite the pair.
