Eighth grade math pretty much feels like the video below.  But we are not quitters we will conquer, we will try again, we will GET IT!

Weekly Round-Up

Bike wash!

Time to celebrate the big 14!!  We started the day with a trip to our favorite doughnut shop.  Check out these "Mega" doughnuts. We've never tried one.  I think it would lead to doughnut overload.   The kids went with their favorites: sprinkles and raspberry filled.
Owen got a package from P'tite mom.  Goodies from Switzerland are the best!!
Ollie couldn't wait to see what he got!
 Owen was super excited!!
I totally bombed on the cake.  Look at his face!  Such a cake fail.  He asked for a strawberry cake and everything was okay until I started to ice it.  It broke into huge chunks.  Oh well!
There were no leftovers so I will still count it as a win.  I seem to have lost my touch over the years.

Pappy and Mimi had a pizza delivered to him!!  The delivery guy rang the doorbell.  Meg answered and said, "no we didn't order a pizza."  He said, "It's for Owen" Owen ran down the stairs and said, "Yep that's me!"
We go on walks:
* when we have the crankies            *when grouchy bugs show up        *when it feels mundane
* when MATH gets hard                   *when its been a long day             *when math is a bear

 Good Morning Lord!

The kids have been working super hard on building this fort.  Meg worked one day from 10:30 until 6:30.  They work on it for hours and hours.

 The girls caught this lizard

SSS stands for:  Southern Siblings Society

They were handing out samples of these at Costco's.  This is not something I would think to buy.  They are amazing!!  We all loved them!!  Who knew??
I need to do a book post.  Here are two we finished recently.  Meg and I really liked this one.
This one got 4.5 starts out of 5 from both kiddos.
This sign is at the hockey rink and I was thinking this would be great for our garage.  I don't think we have any "spitters" but you never know.
It was a great birthday week!!

What We've Been Up To

Got to see this on a Runday/Sunday

Meg got a haircut.  Meg has very thick hair, I feel certain she was a few pounds lighter when we left the hairdresser's salon.
                                                                         Before
Mom I don't want to pose for a picture - After
We never tire of heading down to the beach to explore.
The tide pools here are amazing.

Our newest thing is looking for sea glass.

Owen has a special eye for sea glass

Looks whose turning 14 next week!  Noooooooo says this momma
These birds didn't seem too happy that we were invading their space

A private island we discovered you can only reach when the tide is out.   Check out the picture below to see what it looks like when the tide is in.

Same island with the tide in
We have had a lot of rain in the last few days which caused this tree to go down in our neighborhood which then caused our power to go out for a while.  Then when the power came back on our fridge wouldn't work. Yea for rain - Boo to a fridge that didn't work.  Before that our dishwasher was out for two weeks.  I have the maintenance number memorized.

We called a work order in and they came and "fixed" it but today it started to buzz super loud! We called in another work order.

Founds these four packs for a $1.00! Meg was thrilled.
We take Meg to the local pet adoption center so she can love up on little critters.
Blast from the Past  - this one showed up on my phone - I miss these little guys.

I passed this seagull on my run and totally got his sense of humor.
Aunt B sent these bracelet to Meg and she loves them!!  Huge thanks to Aunt B!!
The following quotes showed up on my Facebook feed and they made me laugh.
My kids are big fans of Madlibs
This one - well because I'm an introvert and I had to attend a formal event with Pascal this week and it took every ounce of people skills I could muster to make it through the evening, but I made it!

and that's a wrap my friends!
