School Days!  We had been working on Owen and Meg's school supply list for two weeks!  This was by far the most extensive supply list we have had.
We all had the first day jitters!

My class!  That's right I'm back in the classroom!  Well, just for 4 weeks.  I took a substitution job for a teacher that had knee surgery.

 Meg's class!
I am subbing in 4th grade which means Owen could have had me!  We found out the day before that he was in the other 4th grade class.  But I love knowing he is in the room right beside me and Meg is just down the hall! I have gotten to know all the staff and I'm hoping I'll be able to sub for other teachers in the school throughout the year.

Owen looks so nervous in this picture.  He took a seat next to this little guy and as I looked at it this morning I thought how great God is because he ended up becoming friends with him and we saw him at church this morning!   Nothing is by chance!
We headed off Sat. for Meg's first horseback riding lesson
Her teacher Mrs. Vikki lives on a super cool farm!

She had a new kitty!
 Meg was in her element!

We were super impressed that Meg started trotting on her first lesson.  Ms. Vikki never controlled the horse with a rope she let Meg control the horse the whole time using her reins.  Later in the car Meg said she really "connected" with "Dolly" (the horse)!  Dolly is a retired race horse.  She raced for 8 years!
Owen became friends with their dog, Bell.
Meg brought home this little book on the first day it made me smile.

                                                                    (pray)

and that's a wrap!  Hope everyone is having happy first days of school!  We had a great first week!

While living in AZ we had some issues with bats.  On the road trip to KS we laughed about it and all agreed we were glad to be leaving the bats behind.  Who would have thought that we would have a bat problem here in KS!  It's comical right?  I had to take these pictures just so people will know I am not making this up.  A huge machine drove through our yard on Friday in order to get to the dormer  we are having issues with.  It was quite fascinating to watch.

 Beep....Beep.....Beep ....almost there!

The kids and I watched from the playground.  We are hoping this puts an end to the bat drama.  They are super loud in Meg's room so loud we have to run a fan to drown out the noise at night so she can sleep.  Here's to hoping we are done with bats!
On Saturday we headed off to Kansas City to visit the WW1 Museum.  Owen was most excited about this!

After the museum visit we walked across the street to Union Station.  We grabbed a bite to eat and then headed home!

A great day trip and fun was had by all!
