Weekly Round -Up

We saw this beautiful rainbow as we headed out for doughnut day.  Every Thursday you will find us starting our day by getting doughnuts.  Its tradition!

I always pull over is Diesel is out.  Meg loves dogs - she loves up on this guy when she can.

The kids had the journal prompt of: what is your least favorite food last week.  So funny how they both selected cauliflower.  I personally LOVE it!!  I make it a lot and I guess they really don't like the smell!  I'm thinking about whipping up a batch tonight.

Here is Owens:
 Meg's take:
(Meg types all her papers on her typewriter.  We hear that type writer going first thing in the morning.  I love it!)

We've been on a Michael Morpurgo kick.  Master Story-Teller. We also read Little ManFred.

Some goalie action going on. Last season the team he goalied for lost all their games and the team he played for lost most of their games.  It was so hard to loose every week over and over again. But this season the team he goalies for has won all 3 of their games and the team he plays for has won all 3 of their games.  YEA!!  Cheers to new seasons!!

Astro always comes right up to the fence when he sees Meg.

At this lesson they were so generous and let Meg use a saddle that cost $4000.  That's right four thousand dollars!!  Meg said, "It was a sweet ride."

It was one of those days we just needed to get out.  The custodial staff, principal, cafeteria personal and fellow teachers gave us permission to end school early and enjoy some fresh air.

Miles and miles all to ourselves

 Look who turned 15!! what??

Snack plates during reading are one of Owen's favorite things in life.
Morning runs down at the beach

 My running buddy Pascal.
Love catching the sun come up when I'm out.
My thrifting buddy - Meg.  She saw this picture and said, "Mom I wonder why this has NOT sold??"
Teenagers are the best - their personalities, sense of humor and the way they see life is just a joy to get to be a part of.

Owen's birthday package from Mimi and Pappy!

New week with new adventures waiting!

Thrifty Finds

Meg has been wanting a typewriter for quite a while and we have been on the lookout.  We scored last week when we spotted this beauty at one of our local thrift stores.  Such a God thing!  It works perfectly.   We ordered a new ribbon off Amazon and she is a dream!  Meg has been typing away! It came with the original box.  Inside was a plastic cover, some little brushes for cleaning, and a book  titled:  The Etiquette of Typing.

Here is her little work station.
Meg and I are going to try and keep book journals this year.  The kids keep a log of all the books they read but we thought this would be a fun addition.  This is a picture of a journal I saw on instagram.  We are going to try to keep one like this.
Early morning runs when the moon is still out are one of my favorite things!

Going to try to read more.  Less phone more books.
Meg loves quotes so I sent her this one.
We hiked the Tanbark Trail this weekend. It was beautiful.  I love how you are in the forest but then you get amazing views of the ocean.  California - you are wildly beautiful!

Hockey season gears up this week.  Time to dust off the skates from Christmas break!
