Weekly round-up
I
was cleaning up around the house and noticed Owen was in need of new shoes.  I am amazed at how rough boy's are on stuff!

"Bernese's Apple Crisp" has always been a favorite at our house.  This is one of Meg's specialties.
Here is Meg making one when she was 3.
Here she is this week!
Pascal took Owen skating and Meg joined them.  When I picked her up she said, "Mom, I am not a skate girl... I am more of a horse girl."  I am kinda relieved that figure skating is not in our future!

Meg, Owen and the neighborhood kids spend a lot of time working in the sand around the playground.
 They create roads...
 A hockey rink
 A Church
 A bridge
 A playground
 They call it "Y" City

"Y" City Money
 loving the leg warmers!
 A garden

Meg and Owen finished up school.  During the year the teacher gave out tickets for good behavior, homework and making reading goals.  Meg never spent hers and at the end of the year she had hundreds!!  So she used her tickets and bought this cute little wooden block sign.  Totally a Meg item!!

It is a tradition for us to go to a Veteran's Cemetery for Memorial Day.

As we were leaving we saw a family holding hands around a grave marker and praying.  It was very touching.
We ended the day at one of our favorite restaurants.

We are super excited summer is here!

Friday was Field Day up at the school and I was in subbing in Meg's class. Wow did the kids have fun!
1st off - Chariot races down the hall!
                                                               and Meg is off!

                                                         Meg's classmates!
                                                                     Meg's best buddy!
                                                  Next up:  Spray bottles!

The ole plunger and ball relay was a big hit!

Everything was going great until the thunder rolled in.  So Field Day moved inside!

We have gotten so much rain.  Today, Meg and I set off on a bike ride.   Here are a few shots of our route!  I tried to capture just how beautifully green everything is!

School is wrapping up in a few days and we are super excited.  The pools open at the end of the month and we can't wait!

A sweet teacher at Owen's school heard he wanted to play hockey.   She told him her two boys had played while they were stationed in Alaska 20 years ago.  She told Owen she still had their bags in her garage and wanted to know if he wanted their old stuff. Owen was beyond excited!!  This is what she gave to Owen!!   We can't believe she gifted all of this stuff to Owen.  She said that it made her happy that it was going to be used again!
Owen had a his end of the year musical performance on Thursday. The kids did a great job!!

We signed Owen up for some hockey lessons.  Before he could take any lessons he had to pass some basic skating classes.  We were very proud of him on his first day of skate lesson he passed all levels! He can now start hockey.  Next week they will begin testing him to see what level he will be placed in.  I guess all that roller blading is paying off!!

On our way back from skating lessons we stopped by our dear friends /family Bryce and Sue's farm.  We always have such a great time there!  It's a super special place and Meg was excited to make smores!!

                                                            good times......great friends!

This is my last week of subbing!  My final day will be in Meg's class.  And we are officially out of school next week!!  Hooray for Summer!
