Owen was excited to try these Korean noodles sent from Marvin.  They were super spicy but he really liked them.

Owen's poor ankles are blistered up from hockey.  He plays a lot!
I love heading to thrift stores and seeing what treasures I can find.  I love finding books for 50 cents.
No one is buying summer clothes right now so I am finding it a great time to get shorts for Owen.
I found this cute little jar filled with marbles.

It was taped shut so there was no way to know if I was really getting 50 marbles or if they were marbles at all!
 but yay!  they were marbles!
Landsend gloves for Meg for $2.00
A pair of wedges for Meg!!  She was so thrilled.....Apparently they were just her style!

Our sweet neighbor invited us to go and see her horse that she boards locally.
 Prinz was a true beauty!
 Meg was in her element!

Her kids are super cute and I have had the pleasure of subbing in her son's class... so we are best buddies!

Prinz was quite drawn to Owen!  Every time he would get near Owen he would go right over to him!

We passed this beautiful lake on the way out to the farm, we had never been to this part of town before.

January seemed like a doozie!  So I am super excited to flip the calendar to February.  Off to a new week and new month.

Last weekend we headed to Wichita.  We spent some time with friends playing games.
                                                                 and going swimming!

We finished reading Buddy and boy was this a good book!  The kids loved it and gave it really high scores.  There is a book trailer on youtube if you want to know more about it.
Meg found some little window clings at Target after Christmas on sale for fifty cents.  Here she is working on them.
I don't know why but when I look at them they make me happy!

Meg's room makes me happy in general it is just a cheerie place to be!

Owen and Meg play hockey a lot!  Like hours worth of hockey.  Owen is in a real hockey phase.
 Meg scores!

Owen asked for knee, wrist and elbow pads for his birthday.  Here is Meg showing them off!
Here are a few more letters the kids had to write to each other because they were arguing.  I don't know why but they make me smile.

Owen was awarded this award at school for being RESPECTFUL.  Only two kids were chosen and he was one of them!!

I love finding little treasures in the kid's book bags.  I found this one hiding in Owen's bag.  Apparently it was suppose to be a little Christmas gift for me!
and how sad is this....It is Owen's birthday today.  We bought this little cake and when we got home I told the kids they could have some some but save half so we can put a few candles on it and sing Happy Birthday.  I didn't even wrap his gifts!  What a slacker mom...but Pascal has been gone for nearly two weeks so I'm afraid this is all this tired momma could pull off!

and that's a wrap.  I have been working a lot.  But the joy of being a substitute is being able to say "no".  This week I am going to say "no" and take a day or two for myself!!

Here is to a new week and anticipation as to what God has in store!
