Summer Days

We started our day with a bike ride, then it was off to the library for the kick off of their Summer Reading Program.  This year's theme is: "Reading is Delicious!" Two ladies from Italy showed the kids how to make a pizza and also shared the story of how pizza came to be.  After this the kids got all the supplies to make a pizza to wear!  I thought this was super cool.  And as if that was not enough each kid got a piece of pizza, juice box, tee-shirt and the almighty reading log!  So we are
off - let the reading begin!

Then it was off to the pool.

After swimming, Owen got to skype with his best buddy Ian, and Meg got some packages with clothes from Abigail.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Mimi, Pappy and Aunt B sent us some packages this week and we were so thrilled!  Here is Meg in her new Pjs.  Thank you so much for thinking of us.   We love you!

Summer

Our summer days consist of alot of the same things.  We like to rotate the following:
Pool
Recycling Center
Thrift Store
Library
Park
Riding Bikes
Walks
Reading
Writing
Cooking

Please say a prayer for us as we are facing many changes in the next few weeks.  They told us we would be moving early May but the paper work has been holding us up.  We finally received the paper work but it was not done correctly so we are waiting again. Our landlord has asked us to be out of our apartment by Aug. 1st.  The moving companies book weeks in advance and so our widow of time is really becoming tight.  We ask that you would pray that we would get our paper work so we can begin the process of the move.  Change is never easy and this will be our 4th move in the last 2 years.   We are thankful Owen got to complete all of 1st grade at the same school.  When he starts second grade he will have attended four schools!  I am trying so hard to "go with the flow" but as a stay home mom I like having a "nest" and right now we are in between.  I really feel the military gives us "extra" opportunities to trust Him, and so we wait, and pray and trust.

Meg and I have a daily routine and that includes walking to the grocery store.  We love buying everything fresh, these were our goodies today.
We like to go on walks over the weekend.  Here we are on a trail.
Owen finishes 1st grade this Thursday!  We are ready for summer and ready for it to warm up, the weather has been in the low 60s.  We're ready to put our winter wear away.

New shoes, loved shoes

If shoes could talk these would have some stories to share!  Meg got these shoes from Mimi when we visited the states last October.  She has loved them!  They were her favorite pair of shoes. Over the weekend we realized she could no longer get them over her heel.  It made her so sad that she could no longer wear them.  I told her I really think she got the "good" out of these shoes but they are so Meg and we both let out a sad sigh. We headed to Ramstein, Air force Base last weekend to buy some new shoes.  She picked out these fancy shoes, a whole 2 sizes bigger than the ones above.  But her old ones are still on our shelf, they just make me smile when I look at them.

Urk, Holland

Competition Season

We headed to Swifterband, Holland on Saturday.  The Heidelberg Pipe Band was competing and we had a great time.
After the competition we decided to just go to a random town nearby because we were right on the coast.  We ended up in a little seaside village called Urk.  And we had such fun there.  So far Holland is in the running to be our favorite place in Europe! So here are a view pics from the day.
