School Days

These two started school last week.  It is so strange to see them get into the car and drive off together.
11th grade and 8th grade here they come!

Getting some hummer action on my feeder.  I love when they come.

Owen finished off his 1st job!
Meg's orthodontist was giving away free Kona ice.  So we decided to head over for this free, frozen treat.  We have never had Kona ice before.
Here is the Truck. They had tropical music blasting and we were excited.  Well, about 3 bites in we were like ..... hmmmm not feeling it.  Owen at one point said, "mom, you can have mine."  That is a nice way of saying, "I don't like this."  I'm afraid we are not Kona ice fans.
I found these shoes for my sister who I know will love wearing them on her farm.
Sometimes Meg and I bike to the pool
I saw an add for an online estate sale not too far from us.  They had some WWII items and we decided to try and buy them.  We have never purchased anything from an online sale, so I was a little nervous and hoping it wasn't a scam.  I called and Owen was able to purchase this field jacket for $39.00!!  We were so excited for him.
He also bought a lot of patches for $15
This super cool map of France!!
and this lot... We went to pick them up and we all thought they were such cool items.  Owen loves all things WWII and added them to his collection!!

Summer I am sad to see you go... but I am also excited to see what God has in store for my new 8th grader and 11th grader.

Summer Vacation

 Meg in her happy place!

Meg and I had a good laugh when we saw this little pile of tater tots in our local commissary.  We don't know how they got there but we thought it was funny.
On our summer vacation Meg got to meet her pen-pal "Grandma Caroline."  These two are best buddies and have a lot in common.  Her family treated us to dinner and what fun we had!  Grandma Caroline is 94 and doesn't look a day of it!  We love her stories and learn so much from her!  So thankful these two got to meet in person!
Owen has always wanted to go the "Show of Shows"  a military show in Louisville, KY.  We didn't know what we were in for but we truly enjoyed it! What an experience.  This guy is the grandson from one of the characters in the series Band of Brothers.  Owen loved meeting him!
This guy runs a military historical youtube channel Owen watches.  He thought it was super cool to meet the guy in person.
Pappy and Mimi were troopers and joined us on this adventure!

Our favorite part of the show was meeting the veterans.
George Merz landed on the beaches of Normandy.
James "Pee Wee" Martin served with the 101st Airborne Division and jumped into Holland in the leading wave of "Operation Market Garden."  He was given the nickname "Pee Wee" due to being the lightest man in the regiment.
Don J. Jenkins was awarded the Medal of Honor from President Richard Nixon .
Frank Emond is 103 years old!! and is a Pearl Harbor survivor.  Owen was so honored to get their autographs and meet them in person.

We learned so much and are glad Owen took us on this adventure.

Reber-Round Up

Meg and I headed to the Sumter Farmer's Market

We came home with a few goodies

Owen completing his final road test!  (I am sure he loves how I stalk him) trying to capture these moments.
Which led to this!!!  I told him to stand in front of this sign.  Can you tell how enthusiastic he was about doing that.  Lots of first for this guy....first job, first pay check, and now his license!!
Meg and I were out thrifting and saw this wooden vase we thought it was cool!
Brought that little beauty home!
Megs been taking request for watercolors that she paints so I asked her for this quote.  I love it!!
this is one she painted for Owen
For Pascal on Father's Day

Some evening hockey
We found a new thrift store a little drive away but it was promising!!
Found this puzzle for 1.00! and never opened which is a good idea when buying puzzles at a thrift store.
Meg's painting for me today!
