Meg's class had an Easter Egg hunt!
Hundreds of eggs!  Kinda hard to hide eggs in the desert.

This is Meg's best friend at school, they are in the same class. We are super sad she is moving next week.  Meg is having a hard time knowing she is leaving.
                                                                    One of Meg's "outfits"

A few Easter shots....or attempts

Meg and Owen's best playground buddies!  These guys meet up everyday and play together after school and on the weekends! Hours and hours of fun spent together!

They always ask for a "crazy" shot

We were off to the Community Center on Saturday for craft day.

Owen won the door prize!  He was most excited about that pack of Peeps.  The kids have never eaten Peeps.  Owen asked me what are "Peeps?"  and I said, "Well, there like marshmallows covered in sugar."  "Mom, I've got to win those Peeps!" was Owen's reply.  We were done with our craft and ready to go but Owen wanted to stay until the lady called out the numbers for the door prize.  Who knew a pack of Peeps could get a 9 year old boy so excited.  And he won!  We all had a good laugh and he and Meg thought the Peeps were awesome!
Then we headed off to an event for Military kids.  They had crafts, a petting zoo, the fire department, a helicopter and lots of other stuff.

Owen was super excited to try paintball!
On Sunday we were all excited because the Thunderbirds were in Tucson.
So we headed off to enjoy the airshow!  Owen and Pascal were in their element!  Meg and I enjoyed sitting under the wings of giant airplanes sipping on a smoothie!  However, we were on our feet when the Thunderbirds were doing flybys!

These last two pictures are of Owen's two favorite airplanes!  I think just seeing these would have made his day.  He has put together models of these planes and absolutely loves them because they are both from the  WWII era.
The almighty B-25 Mitchell

                                                               and the P-51 Mustang

He was super excited to see these planes flying!
We booked the movers! Just a few more weeks before the packing up begins.

YAY!  that Meg's outfits make me smile!

BOO! that the towel racks in both bathrooms broke.

Boo! that the dishwasher doesn't work.
YAY! that Meg won the "Spread the Word to End the Word"  campaign at school.
Her picture was selected and she won a tee shirt, bumper sticker, and bracelet.
The campaign involves bringing awareness that the word retarded is not  a word that should be used for Special Needs individuals.  Her task was to make a poster using kind words.

YAY!   Here she is sportin her new t-shirt.  She was so proud!

Yay that we are getting a haircut today!
(stay tuned for some after shots!)
Boo! that the dryer isn't working!

YAY! that Meg got to go on a "field experience" at school with the secretaries. She got to go behind the scenes at school.  She said it was one of the "bestest" days ever!

And a final double BOO!! for two flat tires!  First, Pascal's car and then mine all in the same week.  They demolished lots of houses in our neighborhood and the nails were from the trucks hauling off the debris.  I did a few huffy breaths over the flat tires, broken dryer, dishwasher and broken towel racks but that's life right?  I'm thankful for the YAYS in the midst of the BOOS!

Pascal bought Owen an inexpensive gun that shoots little rubber bbs. Who would have known this would have provided hours of entertainment for two 9 year old boys.  Owen and Marvin had more fun with that gun than one can imagine.  They spent countless hours shooting into a pond, at soda cans and into dirt hills.  It was a great way for the boys to spend a lot of time together as this was their last week together and today we had to say our final goodbyes as Marvin's family moves away.  It has been a tough day, lots of tears and a Mama's heart broken as she had to see her little guy lose his best buddy.  Our families became super close and as sad as it was to say goodbye I have HOPE.  Hope that these two boys will see each other again!

I am so grateful for Hope.  As Emily Freeman says, "the kind that doesn't expect always sunshine, but the kind that holds on no matter how things appear..."

                                                 In the shadow
                                                 In the sadness
                                               Holy Spirit come.
Won't you rise up like a promise
                                             On the wings of dawn?
Cause even when the darkness covers me
I settle on the far side of the sea
No matter what I do I can't outrun your love.
