Week In Review

Sometimes we just need to head down to the water.  Walking by the beach brings us peace and joy!

Notice the wet pants from the photo above

Meg and I headed out thrifting and found some goodies.  We bought this brand new pack of markers.  I buy lots of office/school supplies while I'm out thrifting.
I found a brand new pair of Birkenstocks for $12.00!!  Going to give these to my sister.
A new running reflector arm band.  It was half price so only $1.50.  Perfect for my morning runs.
I loved this French book.  Only $2.50 It had the sweetest illustrations.

Meg found this mama and baby horse.  She likes to display these on her book shelf.
Meg got this pair of new socks for $1.00!
I didn't buy this but I saw this Dustbuster and it made me laugh.  I totally remember these from like 20 year ago.  This one was only 5.00.
Pascal and I found the coolest antique store and had so much fun just wandering around.  This was my favorite booth!

I loved this bucket of yard sticks!

I little turkey art the kids and I did this week.

I read an article where they were celebrating National Cardigan Day in honor of Mr. Rogers.  They invited Mrs. Rogers to the local hospital where they dressed the new borns up like Mr. Rogers.  How cute is this!! It made me smile!

Meg made up a "mock" Thanksgiving Menu using some of her writing techniques
We were very tempted to get these holiday glasses at a thrift store.
I saw these book marks and thought they were very clever.

Leave it to Meg to make a sign for our downstairs bathroom.
We are celebrating Thanksgiving this year with a Swiss twist!  Cheese will be involved!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Reber Round -Up

We spend a lot of time at the hockey rink.  If Owen is not being a goalie he is reffing or helping coach.  We have a lot of fun watching him in these different roles.  First up some goalie shots.

He is a giant with all his gear on. Thank goodness he can borrow the goalie gear because the pads are super expensive.  They get passed around a lot and they stink terribly..... I mean Meg and I feel like we can smell him through the plastic barrier.  Whenever we ride home after he has been goalie ALL the window are down.

Next up: some reffing shots.  He referees for the little 5-6 year old players.  They are so tiny and can barely stay on their skates.  They put up this barrier to make the rink smaller and they are constantly falling and wiping out just getting over the barrier.  It is so funny to watch the little ones.
The excitement can hardly be contained.

Meg and I found this sign of rules on the wall at the rink and thought some of them were so funny.

Meg told me I need to pay special attention to #4.  "All Patrons will be neatly groomed - clothes neat and clean.  No cut-off sleeves, tube tops, net shirts, hats, sunglasses or combs worn in hair."
I personally like the one that says:  All persons renting skates will be required to wear socks.

                                                           Meg's zone is the ranch.

Ollie who likes to be in the arena when Meg rides.
The condition of Owen's bike seat just made me stop one day.   Boys are so rough of stuff it is unbelievable.  I just threw out a pair of his shoes that had holes all through them!  Wow - just wow!

 This made me smile:
 Night hockey
These little girls are such cuties they love knocking and asking if Meg can play.

Owen and his buddy.  Owen gave this little guy the nickname of "Brownie" and it has stuck.  When he knocks on the door he'll ask for Owen and I'll yell up the stairs, "Owen, Brownie is here."  "Brownie" is moving soon and boy will he be missed!
Meg saw this phone at a thrift store and I thought if I were a teacher of young kids I would make this my "Tattle -Tellie."  When kids want to tattle-tale on someone they can just go right over to this phone and tell the phone all their woes.  Wouldn't this be just perfect.
Cookies and books such a great combo. Someday we make up a batch right before we read.
 Meg loved this book
 Her current read
We finished this one a while ago but really like it.
Had to pull the plug on this one.  I hate giving up on a book but we give each one an honest try and some .... well.... just don't make the cut.
The people down the road put this out last week!  Meg and I think people just skip right over Thanksgiving and go to Christmas.  We have thoughts about this!! We did have to laugh because the people across the street from this house still have skeletons and all their Halloween decorations still up.
and it's off to the rink!!
