Weekly Happenings

We pulled into the driveway and saw this big guy perched on our garage.  Hello fellow!

We had the best Thanksgiving and tried to walk a little of that ham/turkey off by going here.
Thanksgiving fun with Mimi and Pappy!

Time to decorate.  We have not used our Christmas decorations for a couple of years.  It was fun to pull them out.

Meg made a pom-pom Christmas tree
putting a few decorations around the house!

 We had a home-school potluck.

Wednesday evening we  headed out to the base lighting of the Christmas tree.  There were quite a few people and they did a big count down to light the tree and then this happened.  That's right only half of the tree came to life!  We laughed and laughed.  oops....  The guy in front of us said, "budget cuts".

On a good note when we pulled out of the parking lot to leave all the lights were working and she looked beautiful in all her glory!

They had a photo bus.... cutest idea ever.  You just popped in and they had lots of little props.

Then after your photos were taken you went to the back of the bus where they printed out.
 How smart is that??

Meg even scored some play dough and utensils, which is awesome because this girl loves this stuff.

We were also super excited because we made our very first batch of home-made play dough.   It made a huge amount and smells oh so good! (hence the unsweetened pack of Kool Aid.)
 and she's off.
Fun times!!

Reber Round-Up

So funny to pull into the drive way and see these guys in our yard.  Life on the coast!

We found the library on post and we can bike to it!!  We were super excited.  We love libraries.  We already have a card to the library off post a mile down the road.  This little library has an amazing kids section!

Meg got a birthday package from P'tite mom!  Packages from Switzerland smell of chocolate.

We attended craft night at the local library.  Owen went for one reason and one reason only:  the free snacks. Owen took this picture.

 Finished craft!
We saw a flyer for a little homeschool group that meets on post.  Meg and Owen wanted to give it a try.  The first hour they play a sport and the second hour they make a craft or do a science experiment.    Here is their craft from the first week.

Games are usually happening with dad in the evenings.
Meg made this as the reward for whoever won Uno.
We were super excited to see the recycling truck come this week.  It only comes every other week and I was so happy to see the last of our moving boxes go!
Homeschool meet-up week two!  I think these little turkeys even reflect the kids personalities.  Can you guess who made which one?
Meg is always in the kitchen she will whip up brownies, grits, muffins, and her specialty lately is scrambled eggs!
This site made my heart happy!   I looked out the window and saw KIDS .... NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS!!  HOORAY!!

We ventured downtown and found the Kapla store.  They invite you to enjoy the blocks and build something while you are there.

We had some goodies at a French cafe and Owen started giving this little guy some crumbs.

I'll wrap it up with a little of Meg's art.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
