Reber Round - Up

Meg and I stopped by a little market just to enjoy the flowers.

We saw these flying pigs and thought of you Pappy!

I love bubbles!!  We got out Meg's bubble supplies.

We bought this new kind of bubble wand and it works great!

Time for Derby Day.  I was so proud of Meg for making this hat using thrift store finds.  (thank you Amy for the little stick on jewels!! Meg hot glued them to the scarf)  All the items including the hat cost $5.00! We came home with our thrift store finds and she set to work.   After 30 min she came back with this!!

They had the horses out.  Meg always loves this.

This is her favorite horse named:  Lookout

Owen found this Ducks sports banner he wanted.  He somehow talked Meg into loaning him the six dollars he needed to buy it.  I overheard the conversation and Meg told Owen, "you must pay the money back by May14th."  I'm not sure why May 14th is the magical day but I hope Owen has a plan to pay back that money.  Meg always has money!!  Yesterday, she sold popsicles in the neighborhood and came back with a pocket full of change and even two fifty-cent pieces!!
Here we are hanging out in the basement.  Last night the tornado sirens were going off like crazy.  I'm not a fan of them going off.  We headed to the basement and hung out for about 30.  Thank goodness it pasted us.  We had a big storm with rain and hail but we are grateful there was no tornado!! (notice Meg bought her purse)

Our Chaplain offered to take Owen flying with him.  Owen was super excited about this!! He has two boys about the same age as Owen.  On Friday they took off!

Owen got to actually fly the plane!
They went to this cool town where you land on a grass airstrip and then drive your plane into town.  They have car and plane parking places!!
We are very grateful Owen had this experience and when he got home he said, "Wow, that was a day to remember."
and another week has passed!

What we are up to!

I LOVE libraries!!  We circulate between three libraries that are 5-25 min. away.  One little library down the road was hosting a "Titanic Night."

When we arrived we were each given our "tickets"  Each ticket had a name of a person that was really on the Titanic.

We got to sample food, listen to music and take a quiz about how much we knew about the boat.  We then watched a short film, listened to a talk, had a few hands on experiments about ice and water and they concluded with a raffle drawing.  At the end they called everyone's name on their ticket .When they called your name you got a paper with your picture and information on whether you survived or not.  It was a fun Friday night!
On Saturday both Owen and Meg had games.  Owen's  team is doing really well. Meg's team not so much.  She lost 7 to 0 but when she got in the car she said, "Mom, it was great!  The ball never even came near me and Taylor so we made up a secret hand shake and just had a great time chatting!"

Meg and I attended a Mother/Daughter Tea on Sat.  held at the chapel .
Guess who showed up.... her BFF from Soccer!! We had no idea she would be there!!
The speaker is a personal style consultant.  She gave lots of fashion and beauty tips.  This was right up Meg's ally.
 They had a fashion show

And lots of treats!  It was fun.  Meg had a color analysis done and the lady said, The outfit she is wearing is "spot on".  Meg is great with fashion!
On Sunday I heard about a tulip festival at a town down the road so we headed out.  The weather was dreary but it gave us something to do.   Here they are making ice-cream.
 They had this cool windmill
 A petting zoo
 and some cool bubbles
I love how boys "repair" broken hockey sticks
It rained yesterday for the first time in months.  We are so grateful.  There have been lots of fires here in KS.  We see and smell the smoke daily.
 Haircut for Meg
Owen used some of his saved up money and bought a new band for his fit bit that Mimi gave him.
There was a wedding at the Chapel down the road.  I was out walking so I snapped a few shots

and another week is marked off the calendar!!
