Weekly Round - Up!

I was fortunate to sub on a day in 5th grade when they were going on a field trip.  We headed off to the Calvary Museum and is was a great treat!  I really enjoyed it!

With only 18 days of school left, the kids are beginning to bring things home. Meg brought this picture of her home.
Meg loves to set the table.  She always does this on her own.  She loves to have a center piece and ALWAYS has name cards!
Meg and I headed off to a  Mother / Daughter's Tea hosted by the ladies at our church on Saturday.    It was held at a local country club and it was super fancy!  Meg wore her favorite dress with glitter on it.  Wherever she walked or sat a trail of glitter was around her.
The Air Force ROTC Honor Guard was there.  Very impressive!!
Owen has always been a fan of the kilt.  Whenever Dad wears his he wants to wear his.

Today, was no different.  Pascal was piping at church so Owen wanted to wear his kilt... just like Dad!

I ran a road race a few weeks backs and actually placed.  A lady at church gave me this today and I was so excited! I'm not going to mention that there were only 3 in my age group.

We are on the homestretch now and I have just 6 days of subbing left.  I will be in Meg's class on Monday!  I'm super excited about that!!

and that's a wrap!!

Meg had to choose a book that she likes and come up with a creative way to share it with her class.  She decided to make a little video.  Here it is...enjoy!

Weekly Round - Up

Meg is a bike girl she loves to ride the loop.  Both she and Owen have grown a lot this year.  Her bike from Germany was getting a little too small.  Daddy took her out and brought her back with an upgrade!

Before:

After:
To say Owen is into hockey is an understatement.  I wish so badly we could find him a team.  He practices very seriously.  We found him this helmet at a re-sale shop.  He slept with it on his bed for a week.  Please note the baseball glove and soccer pads.  He puts on all this gear with such pride!  We even had to make a trip to a sports store to pick up a Gatorade Water bottle because that is what real NHL player use!

He asks me to play hundreds of times!  I will do my best but after 20 min.  I'm hockey'ed out!  This kid could play for countless hours.   and he does!  He has worn down this hockey stick I bought at a thrift store for $1.00 down to half of its size.

He spends time sketching.....you guessed it .....hockey!

This is a typical afternoon at our place.  We feel so blessed to live in this neighborhood with all these kids.  They hold bike races, make forts, and just play together for hours.
On this day they were holding a bike race.  Meg ran in to grab her stop watch and whistles.  I'm pretty sure she was running the show.  I heard her say at one time, "Bring it in TEAM,  Everyone take a water break!"

On the second week of every month our favorite store called Tee la Ree opens.  It is only open on the weekend and let me tell you we mark it on our calendar.  They bring in the coolest stuff.  Her theme is:  Repurpose, reuse, resell!!  You never know what you are going to find.  She has lots of vintage, antiques, quirky finds and just stuff we have never seen.  I have found several treasures there!

Last week I found this little book with the doll sitting on a shelf.    It is the sweetest little story of a doll who is left in the attic and wonders if she will ever be loved again.  The mice fill her in on all that goes on downstairs.  She gets very excited one day when the mice excitedly tell her some children are coming. Meg and I are finishing it tonight.  Last night Meg said, "I sure hope she gets loved again."

We headed to the dentist today.  I have been on Owen's case for the last 6 months to brush Thoroughly!  Everynight I say the same thing, "Owen that was NOT 2 min. of brushing."
I thought it was sweet when we got in the parking lot of the dentist office Owen asked if we could have family prayer!  Meg prayed and asked God to surrounds us with Angles that will prevent cavities.  Well, the kids got glowing reports NO cavities!!  but I totally had to do the walk of shame to the car for I came away with TWO!!

On Easter our church "flowered the Cross".  We had never done this before but we thought it was a beautiful ritual.  Everyone was given a flower when they came in and then at the front of the church was an empty cross.  After talking about the resurrection we all walked forward and placed our flower on the cross.  The cross was then put outside for a few days!  Such a beautiful symbol of the new life we have because of the cross!

Mimi has been in town and we have had such fun!  These two are quite the pair.  Tea party and beauty shop buddies!

We hosted a little dessert party on Easter afternoon for the families in our building.  Here is Meg hard at work.

Mimi made a lemon pound cake that was unbelievable!!

Meg seems so tall - she was wearing her heels!

 It was a great afternoon!
