Weekly Round-Up!

Owen has been playing goalie which is incredible...but makes me incredibly nervous!

We checked out another nature center last week.  They had a very cool playground.

We are wrapping up our study of Jewish feast and holidays.  The kids have loved this.  Meg made some Stars of David.  It was perfect timing to study this as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur coincided with our study.

We covered our door to represent Passover.
We finished Heidi a few weeks ago and this was such an amazing book!  The kids loved it and it rocketed to the top of our favorite book list!  This was such a special book.  It truly touched us and we saw the hand of God all through this book.
I showed the kids how to make a "Bloom ball".  We talked about the characters, setting, author, and compared the movie to the book.

Owen really enjoyed learning about the Tabernacle.

Pascal went to Washington for a few days we wish we could have gone with him.

We enjoyed Apple Day -  a day filled with activities and demonstrations.

Meg and Owen couldn't wait to watch the working dog demonstration.

Owen and his buddy taking each other out!

Meg has been into building Lego stables.
 and tons of bike rides!

 and that's a wrap!

It was our last visit to the pool!
The pools closed this week and it always makes us sad.  It is a sign the seasons are changing!  We love hanging at the pool.

We discovered this little slash park downtown and the kids love to come here.

The kids made a cookie map of Mesopotamia
We tried making solar prints.  Owen and Meg really enjoyed this.

Owen started soccer last week and had his first game.  He is super into being goalie!

Meg got a letter addressed to "Princess Meg"!  She loves to get mail and was so thrilled!
Thank you Dan and Wendy for the card and also the new Bible DVD.  It went along with what we were studying this week in Bible!!

Weekly round up!

Yay for bikes!  The kids have been riding their bikes a lot!  They meet up with the neighborhood kids and off they go!

Last week we had a field trip to a nature center

                                                           Classic!
                                                    I really like this quote.

A quick stop by the farm where we are also made to feel welcome!

                                            Time to bowl!!

 Skating on Saturday!
Owen skated nearly 4 hours and was sad we had to leave!
The horses were out today and Meg just adores them!!
 Lookout was super into Meg.

 I love finding Meg notes!
Last week we studied Mesopotamia.  Here is Owen trying his hand at cuneiform.

I thought he did an awesome job!  We looked at lots of examples online and both the kid's work looked true to form!
Out in the sun just like in Mesopotamia.
Owen got a package from his best friend Marvin.  They have been passing this journal and the little green soldier back and forth for 2 years!  They take pictures of the soldier in cool places and then journal about it.  The little soldier has been to the: Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Korea,  The DMZ Zone, and many other places.  I think this is so cool and I hope these boys will remain friends forever.  This mamas hoping they'll be college roommates!
