What we've been up to!

I saw Aesop's Fables were being preformed at a library down the road so we went.  There were only two actors but they did an amazing job.  Meg especially loved this.  I think this girl has a future in preforming arts.  I also took her to a local theater company who put on a Charlie Brown play she loves plays and drama.

In Bible we've been studying the lives of the first 3 kings of Israel.
It is always a treat to visit the Biltmore Estate.

Meg and Abigail made cupcakes one day.

While Owen and Ian made use of Mimi's old wrapping paper tubes!

I saw that the local roller skating rink was having Dollar Day so I took the kids.  This is the exact same rink I went to when I was a kid.  I had not been to this place in over 20 years and nothing had changed!  It looked just like it did was I was a kid.

We did some dry ice experiments one day.

 Merry Christmas!!
Owen gave Meg this horse hat and Meg gave Owen this Minecraft shirt!

Mimi always does a great job of having the kids act out the Christmas story while Mr. Dan reads scripture.

And Mimi always makes her famous mint chocolate Birthday cake for Jesus!
Here we are singing Happy Birthday to Jesus!
There was a power outage one day for a few hours.  The kids actually loved this!  We lit some candles and Pap fired up the grill!  The weather here has been in the 60's and 70's so we had a candle light dinner on the porch!

Here is the power truck coming!
Our dear friends in Germany sent us a big package filled with chocolate, candy and gifts.  We were all super excited!!

and that's our Holiday roundup!!

It has been a busy week.  We helped Mimi with some Christmas baking!

 The weather has been beautiful!
We went back to our little hometown and enjoyed a walk down main street.
This is the little library I use to take Owen to all the time.  It was a little emotional going back.
 Balloon animals for the kids.

 This is the children's corner.
How I miss this little town.

Owen saw his art teacher from pre-school.  This is such a special lady!! She made such an impression on Owen at the age of 4!!  We love her!!

This is such a funny story.  I saw Santa and told the kids to go over to him.  Both kids were like NOOOOOOOO mom DON'T MAKE US DO IT.  I DON'T WANT TO!!  I was laughing so hard and pushed the kids over.

Can you feel the awkwardness!!!  Heeee....heeee.....  Meg is like......ugh.....no thanks Santa.

My very dear Saluda friend.  I love that we still get asked if we are sisters.

We checked out the Tryon Equestrian Center.  This place is something to behold.  Meg being a horse girl was in heaven.

Owen helped Mr. Mark work on his tree house.

We went to the Grove Park Inn one evening to check out the Gingerbread houses.

Each year in Saluda near Christmas they offer a craft day at the fire department.  We have been fortunate to go whenever we are in town and Meg loves it!!  She crafted from 9:30 to 12:00.  The crafts are amazing I feel bad I didn't get picture of everything she made! She brought home a bag full of the most amazing crafts.  And it's free!!  We were excited we were able to go this year!

Christmas is around the corner and we are counting down the days.  We are ready for a school break!!
