Weekly Round- Up
We had to say good bye to P'tite Mom. It is always hard to see her go. We made some special memories with her.
We finally finished decorating the house for Halloween!
Just kidding..... this is not our house. It is a house down the road from us. They spent hours getting it ready and I have to laugh because every time we drive by Meg says, "hmmmm that just looks so junky." We are not Halloween people.
We LOVE book sales. The library had a book sale and we were there when the doors opened. We came away with a good stack!! Some of these are books we have already read but we like having our own copy. We get library, audio and kindle books but there is nothing like the real thing.
This is our favorite time of year to head to the beach. There are no crowds and the water is so nice. We saw this huge spider on one of our bike rides. We discovered it is a female black/yellow garden spider. They are not poisonous, but are known for making a zig-zag in the middle of their web. Some people call them "zipper" spiders because of that. Isn't she amazing?
Look who is back on the ice!! Ready for season #2, he is a Wildcat this time around!!
Meg wanted a bird feeder so we got her one. We stopped at many stores to find just the "right" one. But it is proving to be a hit.
Apple Crisp time!!
We had some friends tell us that the chocolate croissants from Trader Joe's were good. So we gave them a try. You have to let them rise overnight and boy were they good. Two thumbs up!!
Off to DC!! We started our trip off at the the National Archives getting to see the Constitution and Bill of Rights. ( no pictures allowed)
Then it was off to the Library of Congress
Super cool to see a Gutenburg Bible -we studied this last year
Sacagawea - Loved reading about her this year
National Cathedral
Arlington Cemetery - Owen always has certain soldiers he is looking for. His favorite place to visit.
Mount Vernon
One of our favorite parts of the race was seeing the signs people made. Here are a few of our favorites.
This one is especially great for Pascal because he will loose three toenails for sure and possibly a fourth!!
It was a busy weekend - but heading to DC is always a treat.
