This is Owen's 100 Days of School Project.  He had to think of a way to put 100 items on a poster.

I found this nifty little umbrella at the Thrift Store.  I was hoping I could attach it to Meg's little kitchen we keep outside but it wouldn't fit into the bracket.
But it did attach to my chair, which I was super excited about.
Owen found this pair of Sketchers that had hardly been worn.  For only $5!!
And Meg not to be outdone, found these TAPP shoes for $5!! What a grand day at the Thrift Store!
We ended the day on a bit of a low though, Owen is fighting a fever, inching towards 103.  Poor guy.

The Rhine Waterfalls

Over the weekend we went to some waterfalls that are about 3 hours away.  Pascal remembers going there when he was a kid, probably around Owen's age.  The kids liked that on one side of the bridge we were in Switzerland and when we crossed the bridge we were back in Germany.  Lots of walking and just taking in God's beauty.

Reading to Owen's class

This week Meg and I went to Owen's school to read to his class.  We chose two of our favorite books.
In Enemy Pie a little boy learns an effective recipe for turning a best enemy into a best friend.  This books serves up a sweet lesson in friendship!
Raising Dragons has a special place in my heart.  It is about a little girl who knows she is meant to raise dragons.
"It was love at first sight." 'Hey there, li'l feller, welcome to the world,' I sang, soft and low.  As I stroked his nose, a sweet little purring whimper came from him.  As I touched skin to scale, I knew I was his girl and he was my dragon.  I named him Hank.

The family lives on a farm and while harvesting the corn they have so much they don't know what to do with it.  That is until Hank breaths on it and make it into dragon-popped popcorn!

Meg helped me fill individual bags of popcorn for the students.  After we read the stories we handed out Hank's very own, "dragon popped popcorn!"  I think it went over well, we took a vote on which book was the best and the whole class voted that they loved both books!

We have music on most of the time. I love the website called: Word of Truth Radio, I use it all the time. This is Meg dancing to that music.

GOING....GOING

GONE!!
Sorry this is sideways. I took a picture of Owen's school picture.

This may be the only time we feel peer-pressure from school helped us out.  Owen's front tooth was hanging by the gum but he didn't want to pull it.  When he got to school all the kids kept saying, "What's up with your tooth?, What happened?  Why is your tooth crooked like that?  Why don't you just pull it?"  Owen got so tired of hearing about it that during PE he pulled it!  That makes a total of 6 teeth gone!
Meg loves to dress herself!  The following two outfits were highlights from last week. I usually don't say anything, but today for the first time I said, "Meg we are going to the gym and tights just aren't that  great for running in, so why don't you put on your Adidas jogging suit, that is what you are suppose to wear to the gym."  I didn't see her for a good 10 min. so when I went to check on her she was in her room with the door closed.  I peeked in and there she was just crying and crying about having to wear a jogging suit.  I said, "Meg it's no big deal if you want to wear tights, then wear tights!"  She said, "Mom, the jogging suit is just not me."  I thought this was so cute and so she wore the RED outfit to the gym!!

(notice the mittens and an old MP3 player that doesn't work which she calls her "I Pad")

We went to the Ritter Sport Chocolate Factory.  The home of my all-time favorite candy bar.  I was a little disappointed once there however, because they wouldn't let children under 7 go through the factory.  So we couldn't see the chocolate being made BUT we sure did enjoy the gift shop!
Meg and I have been busy getting boxes ready for our soldiers deployed in Pascal's unit.
