Reber Roundup

We bought this Unsolved Case Files game at the thrift store for $5.00.  We have never done a game like this.  Meg had seen the exact same one at Target.  We really enjoyed it!  It took us about a week to solve the case.  We would discuss it at dinner or when we were out walking.  Meg solved part one, Pascal solved part two and after getting two clues we found out who was guilty.  It was very authentic and had us scratching our heads!  Two thumbs up for this game!

The gophers have torn up our little lawn.  I have tried everything!  We read they hate the smell of dryer sheets so we stuffed their holes with them but they would just dig another hole!
Meg my vintage girl at heart!
apple muffins... Owen's favorite
Owen made dinner for himself..... it made me laugh and gag at the same time!
So Owen picked me up in front of the grocery store after I returned the cart and Meg was in the front so I just jumped in the back and rode home.  As were driving I snapped this photo because I was truly having a moment and tearing up just a little.  We have entered a new phase!  Me in the back and the kids in the front!  Wow! Where did the time go?
Time for a haircut.  Miss Meg has the thickest hair you can imagine.  The hairdresser took off ALOT!

Owen loves to go the grocery store and pick out a frozen pizza.  Its the small things in life that bring such joy!!

Week in Review

We took a drive down Hwy 1.

If you have never had cheese toast with tomatoes you are missing out!
Meg and I love that our thrift store sells these succulents in little tea cups.  We think they are the sweetest.
I love these displays out our local antique store.

I was tempted by these doors.
                                          I also liked these doorknobs
I took a picture of this skirt and sent it to Meg to see if she liked it.  She did so we headed back later that day to get it.  It was $1.00!!
We had to let the hockey net go.  It was falling apart.  Owen is my sentimental kid, he started telling me about all the places he has used this.  He cut some of the net off to save.
He said, "Mom, this tape is from Kansas."
Our adopted neighborhood dog Diesel moved last week.  I have to say every time we pass his house I still look for him. We have been sad all week about this.
Look who is driving!!  This guy is chauffeuring me all over town!
We are so thankful the fires around us are better.  Check out Owen's drone video below.  He is working on editing, adding music, and downloading these videos!

Week in Review

The fires in CA have been horrible this year.  We had three fires burning close to us.  We have been watching them carefully.  We are so thankful we did not have to evacuate.  Meg's ranch where she rides had to evacuate and the fire came up to their property. The fire fighters made a fire line and the last we heard their property was saved!  We haven't been able to go out there for weeks.  Meg is missing Astro.

I didn't take these top two photos they were sent to me.

The smoke was really really bad for a few days and we couldn't go out much.  It has been much better the last few days.  You could see the sun under a haze.
That is all smoke and a tiny bit of blue sky at the bottom

The fires are about 80% contained....answered prayers!
We received this waffle iron as a wedding gift.  Mrs. Jackie gave it to me.  she was our fourth grade assistant.  Thank you Mrs. Jackie!! We've put it to great use.
Meg makes twice baked potatoes which Owen has dubbed "exploding potatoes"  They are amazing!
The little cabinet we repainted - it found its place in Meg's room

A shout out to Little Caesars who has been a proud sponsor of HIS Academy for 6 years!!  Thank you Little Caesars for providing a quick and easy lunch that excites not only our students but staff as well!

Well, hello lovelies having a little sit down in the morning!
This little backyard has been a project Meg and I have been working on.
 I'm so proud of her!
 What we've been reading
Meg read the following and really enjoyed them
She is a big Johnny Cash fan!
She emailed Taya Kyle the sweetest message after reading her book.
We read The Midwife's Apprentice and it had such a great message.  The kids weren't crazy about this book but agreed it had a good message.
 This one we loved!
 Picking time!
We were in the grocery store and every item on this row was turned backwards!  Meg and I thought it was so weird.  I asked her if she thought it was a prank someone did.  We don't know but she made me giggle when she said, "It kinda represents 2020!"

Owen and neighborhood shenanigans!

 look at this kid!

Meg took this picture and I love it!  It just makes me smile!!
