Catching a Flight, Packing Up and Moving On
The kids and I finished this re-aloud a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed it! The story really fascinated us. Owen and Meg gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Then we caught a flight to head back to NC to help my parents move out of the house I grew up in. They lived in this house for 35 years. We went down memory lane, going through every drawer, closet and storage space.I kept some a few of my grandmother's books. This was one of her text books from college.
I love that she underlined this: "Physical education activities are educational activities and deserve a fair share of school time." I couldn't agree more!! Get kids moving and outside is a rule I believe in wholeheartedly.
Thought I'd get Owen and Meg working on this pose...... I am confident a face-plant would happen if they attempted this.
Headstands...thought I'd have Owen and Meg try this on our lawn in the morning
Thought this was a nifty piece of playground equipment. The kids would love this.
Look at her sweet little First Reader.
Found my report cards from 1st and 2nd grade
and my Kindergarten picture
Some many memories were made here. Great times were had and she served us well. But it was time to say goodbye. A new family moved in with four kids!!
and then there was my room..... sniff, sniff.
After all the packing and unpacking was done we were able to pick up Meg's best friend from Charleston for a few days.
We took her to some of our favorite places
and then we flew back! We were greeted with red tomatoes from Meg's plants!! We've waited patiently for these little beauties. It was a great trip and we loved every minute of it!!
