Recycling is a must in Germany, which is good because I needed to be doing this long ago and was too lazy. I am finding I like to recycle, it is just a good thing to do and they have a huge recycling center on base which makes it very easy. They even have a building where if you don't have something you want you can donate it, then anyone in the community (like me) can come and get it for free! I got both Owen and Meg rain boots for free.... I repeat for free! Yea! so today's post is about recycling.
This is our favorite grocery store just down the road where they have a machine which my kids call, "the smasher." You insert your used plastic bottles, it smashes them (they love this part) and then out pops a little receipt that pays you for recycling. Love it!
I like to think the Army is making me into a "get it done," "make it happen," "no big deal" kinda gal. Owen has so been wanting to ride his bike, but the seat was too low, the tires were flat and we didn't have a helmet. So we set off this morning and got a helmet, walked to the gas station where I pumped up his tires using a german air thingy, and got a wrench and fixed his seat! The motivation to get some energy out of this 6 year old was also helpful.
Grace I love it! What fun, how awesome to make money and also find some things free...ahh yes...who doesn't love that??!!
