What a week!  We made it and we are happy to have this one behind us!
We were studying China this week and Meg and Owen made some really cool crafts but I failed to capture them on camera.  Here is their attempt at writing Chinese Characters.

Meg got a new shirt from Mimi and a haircut!  Thank you Mimi for the shirt.
Meg and I were cleaning out some old boxes someone gave us and she found this cape and mask. Meg has always loved dressing up.

Thought I would throw in a few "blasts from the past" pics of the kids dressing up.  Owen and Meg wore these outfits everywhere!

This pic captures so much of Meg's personality.
Memories!!

Fashion shot of Meg ready for church.
I am so thankful for beans.  Beans just make life easy.  I just pop a can of these and Meg and I are good to go for dinner!  Owen not so much.  but give that guy a bagel and cheese stick and he is good to go!  Meals have taken a hit this week.  (can you tell?) I will get back on track but we have enjoyed some very low key dinners!
Hopefully I will do a better job of taking pictures this week!  I look back on the photos of the kids dressing and up and it reminds me to do a better job of capturing these daily moments.  These memories bring me such joy.  To all of those who prayed for us.... it was the prayers that got us through! Thank you so much!

Meg wanted to celebrate her birthday a bit early so we did.  Happy Birthday Miss 8!

We headed to a kid's museum today and we were excited because they had a China exhibit.  We are studying ancient China next week.

They had an amazing shop where you could build anything you wanted.

Owen and Pascal's finished creation from the wood shop.  Well done boys, well done!

Owen and Meg loved this station, we stayed here for quite a while.

This is what has been going on in the neighborhood.....soccer!  They have been playing soccer for a good week now and everyday after school a group gets together.
Meg's artwork just makes me smile. We have been doing a few of those learn to draw pictures.  Where they show you how to draw through a series of steps.  Here are Meg's final pieces.  This week our study was India so we chose animals from that region.

We also did descriptive writing.  I let the kids pick a topic they wanted to describe.

Weekly Round-Up!

Owen has been playing goalie which is incredible...but makes me incredibly nervous!

We checked out another nature center last week.  They had a very cool playground.

We are wrapping up our study of Jewish feast and holidays.  The kids have loved this.  Meg made some Stars of David.  It was perfect timing to study this as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur coincided with our study.

We covered our door to represent Passover.
We finished Heidi a few weeks ago and this was such an amazing book!  The kids loved it and it rocketed to the top of our favorite book list!  This was such a special book.  It truly touched us and we saw the hand of God all through this book.
I showed the kids how to make a "Bloom ball".  We talked about the characters, setting, author, and compared the movie to the book.

Owen really enjoyed learning about the Tabernacle.

Pascal went to Washington for a few days we wish we could have gone with him.

We enjoyed Apple Day -  a day filled with activities and demonstrations.

Meg and Owen couldn't wait to watch the working dog demonstration.

Owen and his buddy taking each other out!

Meg has been into building Lego stables.
 and tons of bike rides!

 and that's a wrap!
